Earthquake Update

Finally, some good news! I have been hearing many updates on expedited orphan adoptions, survivors being pulled from the rubble, Haitians helping other Haitians with money and food and many in Haiti who are not allowing this earthquake to shake their faith in our almighty God! I talked to Choubert today and he had just talked with Pastor Willy in the Galette Goureau community. It seems as though there were no deaths in the community and only one member of their congregation lost family in the quake - please pray for this family in their loss. Also, it looks as if most of the structures (Choubert's house, the church, and the school) were not damaged. Choubert will further investigate the damage when he arrives, but so far good news! Choubert is planning on traveling back to Haiti the first week of February - flights are continuing to be canceled so we are trying to get him in. In addition, Choubert's vehicle that we had been raising money for last year arrived from Oregon a few weeks ago! They are planning on driving this vehicle down to Miami soon. They will leave the vehicle (pictures to be sent later) in Miami to be shipped to Haiti at a later date. This will be a wonderful aid in helping the community get needed resources and helping travel with a few teams that will be going in the next few months. The relief money will initially be used for food, water, and medical supplies to the community of Galette and surrounding communities as food and water have become very expensive in the last few days and many are having to go without any. As Choubert gets down there, he will assess any further needs the community has and we will communicate these with you. We have a few people from Indiana heading down to do medical work in a few weeks and another group from Nebraska heading down in March. Harmony Christian Church will be heading down in July. Again, thank you for the incredible outpouring of donations and prayers lifted to our God in response to the incredible needs of the people of Haiti. If you are still interested in helping financially as we help provide food, water, and medical supplies to these people, you can send them to:
